Ambassador Upadhyay meets the Minister of State for External Affairs

His Excellency Mr. Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Ambassador of Nepal to India, met the Minister of State for External Affairs of the Government of India, His Excellency M.J. Akbar at the latter’s office today.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the current state of Nepal-India bilateral relations.

They stressed on the need of continuously monitoring the progress made in the bilateral development cooperation projects including road infrastructure to ensure their timely completion.

The Ambassador requested for cooperation of the Ministry of External Affairs in resolving trade related issues like countervailing duty and anti-dumping charges currently levied against the Nepali jute products exported to India. The Ambassador also requested for an early start of the supply of additional electricity power through the newly constructed Kusaha-Kataiya and Parwanipur-Raxaul transmission lines. The Minister of State for External Affairs assured to look into these matters positively.
