Hon Commerce Minister’s engagements in Delhi
Hon Mr Matrika Prasad Yadav, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies had a courtesy meeting with Hon Minister of External Affairs of India, Ms Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi today.
During the meeting, the two Ministers exchanged views on a range of matters of Nepal-India relations.
Hon Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies conveyed the desire of the Government of Nepal to further consolidate bilateral relations with India and to this end, he stressed on the need of stepping up meaningful economic cooperation on the basis of mutuality of benefits. Hon External Affairs Minister assured of India’s continuous support for Nepal’s development and prosperity. The External Affairs Minister termed the completion of the processes of various elections in Nepal as important achievement.
Earlier this afternoon, Hon Commerce Minister met the Minister of Commerce and Industry of India, Hon Mr Suresh Prabhu. The two Ministers discussed about various matters related to bilateral trade, transit and investment. They also shared views on the importance of the World Trade Organization for countries like Nepal and India as well as on how the like-minded countries can work together to safeguard and strengthen the rule-based multilateral trading system.
Hon Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies is on a visit to India at the invitation of Hon Minister of Commerce and Industry of India in order to participate in the informal meeting of the ministers responsible for the WTO being held on March 19-20, 2018. The Minister arrived here today afternoon.
